A Study of Feathers is an original piece by Maya Garcia, created in April, 2014, using the most vibrant and varied colors available, to create the effect one might see at the bottom of a creek or a spring, after the birds of the forest have undergone the molting process. It evokes the transition from winter to spring, a virtual “shedding of the skin,” so to speak. Mixed in with the assorted bird feathers are also flower petals from overhanging trees. as you would naturally see in spring. This is a watercolor painting on high quality artists’s paper.
